Chuck McSweeney is the principle of EMS Consulting Services and is a professional EMS management consultant offering over twenty five years of EMT, Paramedic, aero-medical and management consulting expertise to clients. As an EMS consultant, we specialize in preparing feasibility studies to determine the most efficient use of resources and services for effective delivery systems. Chuck has considerable experience with Fire/EMS staffing, procedures, training, response times, ePCR and dispatch applications.
Chuck's education includes a Master of Science, Public Safety, Saint Joseph’s University; Bachelor of Science, EMS Management, MCP Hahnemann University; and Associates of Science, Allied Health Care Management, Camden County College; and Certified Public Manager. Chuck has extensive management and clinical knowledge base from hands on experience at the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services Office of Emergency Medical Services and Jefferson Health System. Chuck is also a Certified Medical Transport Executive.
Jennifer is an EMS consultant with over twenty years of experience. Jennifer has worked with volunteer and career departments throughout her EMS career and is currently a New Jersey and NREMT-Paramedic. Jennifer is a contributing author to NJ FIRE Magazine on health and safety and has been a lecturer at the NJ EMS Conference.
Jennifer's expertise is in developing managerial, operational and human resource policies for emergency service agencies. These policies include infection control programs, quality assurance and employee handbooks, while developing various public relations programs. Jennifer is involved in quality data driven projects to reduce defects and improve processes and is currently a Six Sigma Green Belt. Jennifer is a member of the National Association of EMTS and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Jennifer's education includes a Master’s of Science, EMS Management, University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC); Bachelors of Arts, University of Delaware; Certificate in Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness, Villanova University.
Aaron Friedman started with EMS Consulting Services in January 2012 as an Associate Consultant and EMS Instructor. Prior to his appointment as Associate Consultant for EMS Consulting Services,he served as a Full Time Lieutenant for the Montclair Ambulance Unit with responsibilities for personnel training, emsCharts administrator, creating policies, procedures and employee handbooks. He is responsible for implementing and conducting new hire orientation. He has also held positions responsible for Maintenance,Supply & Inventory and Membership Recruitment.
In 2003, Aaron went to Israel to work as a paramedic for the year. While in Israel, Aaron was involved in the relief efforts of several terrorist attacks, through this experience Aaron learned different approaches to the ICS system and was able to see the ICS system in some of its finest and worst moments Aaron comes to the position with over 12 years of prior experience in emergency services. Aaron brings with him his professional background, along with his EMS experience in hopes to sharing his different approaches to EMS.
Dr. Stiefel began his career in emergency medicine in 1974 when, as a student at Cherry Hill High School West, he joined the Woodland Fire Company and Cherry Hill First Aid Squad as a volunteer. He became an EMT in 1975 and a volunteer Paramedic in 1977 with the West Jersey Health System (now Virtua Health). He also had several positions with transport ambulance companies and as an emergency room technician.
Dr. Stiefel is board certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and is board eligible for sub-specialty certification in Emergency Medical Services. In addition, he is an instructor in ACLS and PALS and has been appointed as regional faculty for the American Heart Association. He is a member of the Board of the Alumni Association at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and is an associate professor at the School of Paramedical Sciences at Camden County College. Recently Dr. Stiefel has become an active member of the Board of Directors of the Gloucester Township Ambulance Alliance.
Dr. Stiefel is the recipient of the 2015 New Jersey State Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services Outstanding EMS Physician of the Year Award.
Amy has served the New Jersey EMS community as a volunteer and career provider since 1995. In addition to providing high quality medical care, she has taken on challenging roles as an EMS educator, and training officer joining her love of learning with helping other providers develop clinically and professionally.
Amy is a dynamic presenter at EMS and Fire conferences nationwide, raising awareness on
topics such as provider wellness, response to hoarded environments, and career development for
EMS professionals. She also regularly contributes to several trade publications such as In Public
Safety, EMS1, and EMS World Magazine.
Amy continues her own journey of learning and will attain a bachelor’s degree in Political
Science with an International Relations focus from American Public University in May of 2020.
Nicholas Krauss began his career in Emergency Services at the age of 15 as a Junior Firefighter. Since then, he has become certified as a Firefighter and a New Jersey EMT. Nick holds an Associate of Science Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Science from New Jersey City University.
Nicholas has been involved with multiple career and volunteer agencies in Monmouth, Ocean, and Burlington Counties. In addition to being a Firefighter and New Jersey EMT, Nicholas holds many certifications in Fire and EMS. They include, but are not limited to, Fire Inspector, AHA CPR Instructor, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care.
Brian has always had a passion for Emergency Services. At the age of 16 he joined the volunteer fire service and became a certified Firefighter and EMT. After graduating Burlington County College with an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science Technology, he went on to become a Police Officer. Brian has served his home community volunteer fire department of Pemberton Township for over 15 years. He is currently a Battalion Chief. His responsibilities include: training, public relations, and officer development. Brian is the head of the EMS Division of his department. Brian has also served as several ranks in career EMS departments. He is a Level II NJ State Fire Instructor, AHA Instructor, and enjoys mentoring new members into leaders
Brian is planning to graduate Thomas Edison State College in the Spring of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Homeland Security. He will then move on to a Master of Science Degree in Theology.
Ryan started his Emergency Services career at the age of 18 when he became a Wildland Firefighter for the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. Shortly thereafter, he became a structural Firefighter, as well as a certified First Responder by the New Jersey Department of Health. Ryan completed the Rutgers University Public Works Manager course where he gained his certification as a Certified Public Works Manager.
Ryan was a Fire Chief for four years, recently retiring from the position, where he became a Certified Instructor, as well as acquiring several certifications in Rescue and Extrication. He is currently working as a career New Jersey EMT at several agencies.
Mary Beth joined EMS Consulting Services in April, 2018. She brings with her ten years of medical experience. Mary Beth’s career and love for EMS began in 2009 as a Certified Medical Assistant and volunteer at Jackson First Aid Squad. In June, 2010 she became a Certified EMT. In 2012 she became a Certified Phlebotomist. Mary Beth was introduced to EMS Consulting Services in September, 2015 when she was hired with subcontracted agency Western Monmouth EMS. In her time at WMEMS she has been able to further develop her hands-on skills as a medical provider and clinician.
